Wedding plan update
This weekend we went to have a proper look at the room we are having the reception in, it is bigger then I remember which is good because we invited a few more people then we thought we were going to! We have got the room plan, seating arrangements, table decorations and table names all sorted :) We had a very productive weekend! I have been going over the food with my mum as well today, everything is coming together so well. I am so chuffed
Oh also our dads have both ordered their shirt and ties to match Jamies and my Dad has booked his hotel :) How exciting!
Reception
We’re going to view the room where we are having our reception on saturday. We have seen it before but we can see it properly and plan the tables :) So exciting :)
DIY Watercolor Escort Cards

Supplies
- watercolor paints
- watercolor brush
- heavy professional grade paper, BFK Reeves or Stonhenge is recommended, make sure that the paper texture is not too rough, this would inhibit the calligrapher from writing on the paper (purchased at an art supply store)
- metal ruler
- glass of water
- cutting mat
Directions
1. Tear paper into 3 inch strips
2. Using the strips of paper, tear them into 3.5 inch pieces
3. Mix a palette of colors (for example, yellow, orange, pink)
4. Create washes on the pieces of torn paper using the range of colors from the palette
5. Let Cards dry for 24 hours before writing on them, this ensures that they are completely dry so the ink will not bleed. Send to the calligrapher or try doing your own calligraphy with a diy calligraphy kit.
6. We pinned our diy wedding watercolor escort cards to a linen board with delicate pins, but the options for display are limitless.
ceremony appointment
We had our ceremony appointment on saturday to give notice, get everything signed and go over what is going to happen on the day. So we now have the music picked and the vows written as we needed to let the registrar know. For the music we have Slow Club-When I go for my entrance as it is a song that we played a lot when we first started dating, that Jamie taught me on the base, that he sang to me in the bath when I was pregnant and that we sing to our daughter. For when we sign the register we will have The Shire Theme, it is such a pretty song that makes us both smile. When we leave we will have Levellers-What a Beautiful Day, which is a song that we have both like for longer then we have been together and will make a wonderful start to our marriage :)
We also have our vows finalised, we have been writing them for a while but have them complete now. I don’t want to post the vows yet as that is just between me and Jamie until the wedding. It was important to me that we knew each others vows before the wedding, so that we know exactly what the promises we are making are. I’m so excited! Just over 3.5 months now!
wedding dress update
My dress arrived and I didn’t like it :( It just wasn’t what I was hoping for. It really upset me, that I had wasted that money, that I know longer had a dress and felt disheartened about the planning and even stopped browsing pinterest (shocking I know). Well I found another dress that I liked more, it is a little simpler (in a good way) and is made specifically to my measurements so it will fit just right. It also has a corset back to allow for weight gain/increases. Jamie insisted I order it straight away to stop me fretting about it.
I ordered a mint green petticoat to go with it :) I’m really excited again now and have gotten back on track with wedding planning :) I don’t want to post a picture of my dress because I don’t want to jinx it. I don’t usually believe in stuff like that, but I don’t want to risk anything now hahaha!
Alba’s dress has arrived
It has been delivered to Jamie’s work because we don’t like important post to come here, so I haven’t seen it yet. I am so excited :) On sunday it is just 5 short months until the wedding :) I am so glad Alba is going to be there for our special day. It is going to make the day more even more magical to share it with our little girl.
We've picked our first dance song →
We’re going to have Adele-Make You feel My Love. It may seem quite corny but that song really means a lot to us. I have always like it so when we first started going out Jamie learnt to play it on the guitar and always sings it to me. Also ever since Alba was tiny I would sing it to her when she was upset and it would always calm her and make her smile, It is such a beautiful song. I think it was a Dylan song originally, we’re going to have a look around to see if we want the Adele version or a different one :) So excited :)
Mine and Alba’s dresses for the wedding! I love them even more seeing them next to each other! I can’t wait till they get here! She is going to be a little mini me. Love it!
We got Jamies shoes for the wedding too. He only ever wears Converse All Stars but wanted something a little smarter for the wedding. I really liked these but they were £70, then we saw them in a sale for £50, when we got to the till they came up as £30!! Hell yeah for bargain shoe day! Yay!
I’ve found my wedding shoes!! I saw them a month or so ago but they were £85 which I couldn’t afford. After endlessly searching and finding nothing like I wanted I was feeling pretty desperate and decided to just go and see if the shop still had them. I looked all round the shop and couldn’t see them, then I found them in a sale bucket half price! And they fit like a dream! Wooooop!
